*Both Squadrons aircraft carried special deployment emblems on the rudders, a red circle with white/yellow Indian Chiefs head (see photo)
[1] Went u/s at Lajes and did not deploy to Turkey. [2] Went u/s at Balikesir and repositioned to Spangdahlem. Departed bound for Lajes on 8 November but had to divert to RAF Alconbury with problems. It departed not long after but was forced to return back to Alconbury the same afternoon. It eventually got away to Shaw AFB 5 December. [3] from photos taken in the United States after the deployment. [4] I Have a slide of 64-0725 (at AMARC in 1987) with deployment emblem, this might have been an air spare or another possibility is that 64-0726 is a mis-pole?

ffffffffffffffffff Still marked for 'Coronet Cherokee' more than a year later is Arkansas Guard F-4C 64-0784. The marking, as you
ffffffffffffffffffffffcan see, was a Red Indian Chiefs head. The majority of 1986 deployments were named for Indian tribes, many
