European test and evaluation of the F-16 Fighting Falcon. Arrived from Pease AFB 6 February (and moved to RAF Mildenhall same day) Departed to Bodø, Norway on 9 February for Cold Weather trials (spent approx. 5 weeks here). Moved to Skrydstrup, Denmark (5 weeks) and then on to Hahn AB, W. Germany (2 weeks) before returning to Alconbury on 3 May (where they spent another 3 weeks involved in Air Combat trials). Departed to Wright-Patterson AFB 25 May.
[1] Returned from Bodø (where it had been involved in break parachute tests) to RAF Lakenheath 28 February and departed bound for Seymour-Johnson AFB 4 March.

Only 3 A-7s identified. Command post for the re-deploy was EC-135G 52-3570 28 BW. 140 TFW History states: "In September and October 1979, the unit deployed to Merzilon AB, Turkey, as part of Exercise Coronet Rider. The unit deployed its entire squadron of 24 aircraft for 30 days. This was the first time any Air National Guard unit had deployed under "bare base" conditions in which only a runway and water supply were provided."
